Hi Paul, Joseph Allen mar. Lydia Aldrich - His line is- Abraham 2; John -1; John -A; This Lydia Aldrich -4; line is Moses-3; Jacob-2; George -1; They had a son 1. Ezra w/m Lucy Mann 2. AHAZ b. ca, 1770: w/ m/1 Chloe French 29 jan. 1787, Milford m/2 Kezia Cooke in 2 places but VR's say Kezia Thompson in VR??? 10 may 1803: (vr) I am in possesion of Joseph Allen's will: He names sons : Alvin Allen: Ahaz (Ahas) Allen: Ezra Allen: Moses Allen;Caleb (desc.) Joseph Allen: and Grandson Caleb: He names no daughters: However there is a Lydia Allen b. 4 Mar. 1763 to Joseph & Lydia: (Men VR) also: Tamar b. 9 Mar 1749/50 ( Men VR) m. Ebenezer Aldrich: s/o Charles, 7 apr. 1795, Mendon A - Lydia Allen m. Phineas Hayward. 19 Apr. 1793: (this may or may not be the same Lydia:) AJ in GAG leaves her blank ; not followed or marriage mentioned: There are no deaths in Mendon VR for these gals: In some families daus. were completely ignored in inheriting anything.. or both girls were deceased or moved away from the area??? Other sources I have. leave Lydia Allen as just born (NFI) In the Hayward Gen. it has Phineas s/o Benjamn mar. int. to Lydia Allen- 19 Apr, 1793- Mendon: In this case the Father's Will does not prove that this dau Lydia, of Joseph & Lydia , married Phineas Hayward: Other sources would have to be found to prove further if this Lydia died young, was the above stated Lydia or married elsewhere a COOK???? Sorry I could not be of more help; however I did spend quite awhile searching material tonight and in the past.. looking for you Ahaz Cook: and nothing seems to come up positive. :( The back-door approach works on occasion but looks like it needs more searching of records whuch I don't have: Hope this helped a little?? Hi Paul: Where did you come up with Ahaz Cook? I don't even find him in Mendon, MA, Milford, Uxbridge or Wrentham. Can't check Bellingham, because it is visiting this week. I don't find anything that connects Lydia Allen to Ahaz Cook. I find nothing on the internet or elsewhere regarding the husband of the above Lydia Allen of Mendon. She is the daughter of Joseph Allen and Lydia Aldrich. Could she be the mother of Ahaz A. Cook who was born 1790? If so who was her husband? While Lydia was a common name, Ahaz Cook named one of his daughters Lydia Ann. Lydia Allen also had a brother named Ahaz. Ahaz Cook was from Mendon as were all of the others above. Summery re Ahaz Cook if son of Lydia Allen: -middle initial "A" - possibly Allen (or Aldrich) -would have uncle named Ahaz -named a daughter after Lydia -all from Mendon -correct time of birth Who did Lydia Allen marry????? Thanks for any help/suggestions! PCP

Hello All! In order for our home page to load more quickly I have greatly reduced the size of graphics and otherwise made the page more compact. The page should load much more quickly on your browser. Go to this URL: http://www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Marina/2343/ In an attempt to improve the page I am looking for suggestions. What would you like to see added. For example I could add a page where members could have their lines of ancestors posted. If you have some special genealogy Internet links which you feel are exceptional, please send them to me and I will add them to our "Links" Page. Some other Family Home pages have some nice features. If you see any which we could "borrow", please let me know about them. An interesting feature of our page is the guest book. Our Guest Book where people have added little messages for everyone to see. In the last 11 months we have 94 entries. It is interesting to see how many Aldrichs are looking for family information. We one of our entries is from an Aldrich in South Africa. I am in the process of sending a welcome message to all signers of our Guest Book, inviting them to join our Roots-L list and to become members of the National Aldrich Association. I look forward to your replies. John Aldrich, Portsmouth RI , President, NAA National Aldrich Association Home Page: http://www.geocities.com/SouthBeach/Marina/2343/ e-mail: jaldrich@wsii.com

According to secondary sources, they married 10 Mar 1783 in Lebanon, Grafton Co., NH, where up to 10 children were born. Deeds there for Joseph Weed name a Nathan Aldrich and William Aldrich as grantees. Joseph & Lydia moved before 1830 to Essex, Chittenden Co., VT. I have checked probates, deeds, census for all Aldrich men in Grafton Co. NH 1810-1830 with no leads to link to Lydia. Hello all! Here is a nice letter which I just received from our cousin, Frans Aldrich in South Africa. He is willing to exchange e-mail messages. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- ------- Date: Mon, 08 Jun 1998 15:48:36 -0400 To: "fransa@global.co.za" <fransa@global.co.za> From: john aldrich <jaldrich@wsii.com> Subject: Re: Website Response I am very happy to be able to communicate with you people which I regard as my near family after all we share the great surname. As far as I can gather we descend from George William Aldrich who immigrated to South Africa from round about a smallish village Beccles on the banks of the Waveney river in East Anglia. He moved much later than your ancestor George to South Africa former Cape Colony as occupied by the Brittish. There are quite a number of Aldrich's in South Africa. Rather conservative Arian Christians with a proud history of honesty and respect to our fellow people in South Africa. In South Africa we endeavor to keep the family ties close. I descend directly from George William Aldrich the first South African Aldrich and descend form his son Francis Patinger Aldrich. I am the 7th FP Aldrich and my son working/holiday in England is the 8th. I am Afrikaans speaking but also conversant in English and Xhosa and if the native languages. We hope to entertain you and/or any Aldrich from the USA in Bloemfontein (very cold during winter -8 degrees C at the moment otherwise very pleasant to stay in. We have a low crime rate in Bloemfontein and you do not have to worry about that aspect. We are very civilized and do not hunt wild animals in the streets ( just a joke) If you find the time please keep up the E-mail conversations. What a magnificent way of meeting one's family and friend. I will share more news next time God bless you all Frans Aldrich John Aldrich W1WLG, Portsmouth RI e-mail: jaldrich@wsii.com Home page: http://www.wsii.com/users/jaldrich/ and http://www.qsl.net/w1wlg/

Hello all, Good Evening, I am hoping somebody out there has a copy of an Aldrich Coat of Arms. There is a black and white Aldrich Coat of Arms in the frontspiece of the George Aldrich Genealogy vol.1. That is the one I have on the Aldrich Family Home Page. I used my computer to add the colors. The colors of the bull, and the Fess are described in A J 's book. A.J. Aldrich had beautiful colored pictures printed and was selling them. My question is do you know of anybody who has one of those pictures? I would like to know what are the colors of the scroll at the bottom and the inter-woven leaves behind the knight. Do you know of any other sources of information concerning the Aldrich Coat-of-Arms? I am looking into the possibly of getting some coats of Arms printed for family members. This could then be easily printed on shirts if desired. I was "cemetery hunting" this week-end in Appling County, GA and came across this name at the Baxley Cemetery in Baxley, GA. It is right next to Friendship Baptist Church. Cornelius M. Aldridge Nov. 3, 1907-Dec. 10, 1978 Maggie L. Aldridge Feb. 22, 1910-May 16, 1983 My GGGrandfather (Isham Aldridge) had a brother named Cornelius (their father was Jesse Aldridge), they lived in the same county all through the census records and I am hoping this may have been one of his (Cornelius') children/grandchildren. Is anyone familiar with this line? If not, I guess I do it the hard way and start looking through the census records. Thanks, Diana Garrett Blackwelder

Hello All, I am seeking any information on Arbaces C. ALDRICH born 30 August 1838 in Scioto Co, OH and died 3 December 1912 in Fannin Co, TX. Arbaces was first married to Elizabeth BOREN of PA on 23 August 1857 in Scioto Co, OH. I am unaware if there were any children from this marrige. He then married Amy RISENHOOVER of Alabama and had one child that I know of, Barthena Aldrich (22 Nov 1866 in MO). If anyone has any information regarding the siblings of Arbaces or any other information regarding wives and children he may have had I would be extremely grateful.
