According to the Eddy Family in America, Dorcas Blanchard was the daughter of Susanna (Aldrich) Blanchard and Benjamin Hall Greene. Dorcas' grandson says that the Blanchards came from Uxbridge, MA. I'd like to be able to connect with Susanna Aldrich. Was she married to Benjamin? Why does Dorcas have the name of Blanchard and not Greene? Dorcas was born May 16, 1845, in Killingly, CT, and died Jul 24, 1890, in Johnston, RI. She was married to John Lewis Eddy Jr on May 31, 1876, probably in Killingly. Karen Flanders Eddy
Dear Members of the Aldrich Mailing List, The principle source of the information available to the National Aldrich Association is an unpublished manuscript compiled by two of our members, Ralph and Pearl Aldrich, now deceased. The information was gathered, collated, and typed by them over a period of about 35 years. This manuscript has proven to be quite reliable. However, as with all genealogies of any size, there are omissions and errors. To increase our ability to answer your queries we want to purchase a copy of Volume 1 of the George Aldrich Genealogy by A. James Aldrich. If you hear of or find a copy, please advise any of the other officers of the National Aldrich Association. Thanking you all - John Aldrich - President <jaldrich@wsii.com> Alice Palladini - Secretary <alicep@ma.ultranet.com> Doris Coakley - Treasurer Bob Criswell - Historian <rcriswell@compuserve.com>

Just a test and I want the report of the reunion asap on THIS list, please! W. David Samuelsen
Hi Cousins, I just came across an interesting item in some files I inherited from my father-in-law, Laurence W. Roe. He corresponded with A. J. Aldrich back in 1974 regarding the first 2 volumes of the George Aldrich Genealogy. I have a letter and a 2 page original advertising flyer from A. J. Aldrich here -- and I didn't even realize it until tonight. Just a little "human interest" I thought I would share :) Sue Roe
Dear Lin; The Moses you found was the son of Paul Newman6 and grandson of Moses5. George A. and David were two of Moses'7 children; James, Arnold, Lillie P., David, Richard, Alma, Margaret, Florence, and George. Bob Criswell Historian - National Aldrich Assn.
Just back from a vacation and genealogy trip following my own "Aldrich trail" in Stewartstown NH, Inverness, Megantic, P.Q.; Huron Township & Fordwich, Huron, Ontario and Lyndon & Wheelock, Vermont. While in Fordwich looking for the cemetery with Arnold Aldrich's grave (1857) - which I never found - I came across a grave for a Moses ALDRICH (d. 13 Feb 1924 in his 79th year). Since Arnold was son of Moses (Arnold-6, Moses-5, Aaron-4, John-3, Joseph-2, George-1) I strongly suspect a near familiar relationship - perhaps grandson through one of his sons, maybe Edward. Does anyone know who this Moses is? On the same stone was his wife, Margaret MCKNIGHT, May 1845-Apr 1920 and son? George A. ALDRICH (1891-1935) and George's wife Rosella KROFT (2 Oct 1899-21 May 1997. Nearby was a stone for David ALDRICH, 1876-1951, his son, M. Richard ALDRICH, 1907-1973 and M. Richard's wife Gertrude MADD, 1911-1977. There was no listing for an ALDRICH in the current Fordwich phonebook. Does anyone know how/if this Moses is connected to Arnold-6? Also, we visited the cemetery of the Anglican Church in Lower Ireland (Inverness). They had a guestbook which a Jack and Phyliss Donaghy (might be Doneghy -- I can't read my own scribble <g>) signed recently with the notation they were descendants of Aldrich & Williamson (my Arnold-7 married a Williamson). Unfortunately they didn't include a location so I don't have any way to contact them. There were 4 Jack Donaghys listed on switchboard.com (US), but they might also be Canadian. Does anyone know these Donaghys and how to contact them? Lin Wright ethelind@athens.net
Hello Everyone, My father, Levi Madison Aldrich, whom many of you just met for the first time at the Texas Aldrich Reunion in May, will be celebrating his 80th birthday August 3rd and I thought it would be extra nice for him if he could receive birthday cards from other members of the family. His address is: Levi M. Aldrich 2317 S. 55th Street Temple, Texas 76504 We are having a little party for him Saturday afternoon August 8th but the cards would be great on the 3rd. If you can, contact those that I might miss with this e-mail and let them know. We hope everyone is well and happy. God bless. Riley and Gail
--------------------------------------------------------------- From: "Debbie " <kbrat@tir.com> Subject: Aldridge/Aldrich family I have an Aldridge/Aldrich person I cannot connect to any other family lineage. If you would submit a query or offer any information or suggestions it would greatly appreciated. My Aaron Aldridge was born near 1810, in NY per census. He married Almira Lockwood either in NY or Michigan. He vanished between 1856 and the 1860 census. Aaron Aldridge moved from NY (??unknown where in NY) to Washtenaw County, MI about 1840. He lived in Washtenaw County very near Amasa Aldridge (wife Martha) also born about 1810. In fact Aaron purchased land from Amasa. I believe they were either brothers or maybe cousins but cannot verify. All available records including cemetery records have been searched. We know from family stories Aaron had a cousin Albert Aldrich born 1836-1842 also NY. His age varies from census to census and per his obit. His parents according to a marriage license were A. Aldrich and Huldah Hall. The name Aldrich/Aldridge varies per record found and depending on the year. Before and including 1860 the name was Aldridge; after 1860 the name was spelled Aldrich. Would you be interested in adding my lineage to your information? Thanks for a response. Deborah kbrat@tir.com ----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Hi Bill: David did a whole blurb on Turner Aldrich, Jr. 19 Apr 1998. Suggest you look in the archives and see what David has to say. I don't have it in the computer. I printed it out and it is 8 pages. Regards, Alison Franks Archivist, Rawson Family Association
Hello, I am looking for someone with knowledge of Turner ALDRICH (jr) and perhaps his will or information regarding his children. I believe I have a child of his but his civil war records did not list his parents, I am still working on other records but I figured I would try and see if someone has a will that may have mentione a Luther T. ALDRICH as a child? The George Aldrich Genealogy V.5 lists Luther as a son with no source or documentation and I would just like to try and verify this. Thanks in advance. Bill Barrett
