    2. Alison Gene Franks
    3. Good Morning Aldrich Cousins I have just completed compiling and printing up SOME CEMETERIES OF BRATTLEBORO, WINDHAM COUNTY, VERMONT. It is 140 pages and is on the following cemeteries: Carpenter, Meeting House Hill, Old Brattleboro Village, Prospect Hill, Ward-Robinson, and West Brattleboro There are no ALDRICH entries listed in my book. The Carpenter people that are listed have been given to Chuck Carpenter for placement in his data base for all to look. Reason for that is that some of these Carpenters are Rawson descendants and being as how Chuck is also a Rawson as I am, and we both are Aldrich descendants, I gave him the information. If anyone is interested in purchasing a copy, please contact me at:<afranks1@juno.com> Up coming cemeteries will be Guilford, Dummerston, Newfane, Wardsboro, all in Windham Co, VT. There may be others included. Merry Christmas to all of you Alison

Essex, England > Husband: George Aldrich > > Supposed grandfather: William Aldrich > Born cir 1550 England (prob.) The parentage as listed is completely impossible to begin with. His birth date 1605 is one that have been constant in many records I have came across so far so we know for sure 1605 is here to stay. Currently the only one and most likely one is him christened at Little Berkhampsted, Hertfordshire, England which is right northwest of London. Father was as listed on record (in Latin) was Georgiji Aldrich. No mother is named. One thing that stand out very clearly is that George and Katherine were not Quakers when they arrived at Mount Wollaston (now Braintree), MA - otherwise they would have been either put to death or driven out like other Quakers were at that time. Only secured Quakers were living at Sandwich, MA - a long way from Braintree - on Cape Cod. They were converted to Quakerism just before moving to Mendon - but exact date is unknown. Great Fire of London 1666 destroyed many of churches in London so we do not know exact which church they were alleged married in. They had to be Puritans in order to be in the John Winthrop Fleet of 1630. John Winthrop went on to become Governor of Massachusetts. Everybody in the fleet were all Puritans to begin with. I don't know where the idea of Derbyshire as both birth place and marriage of Katherine Seald came up because all I have seen were always either 3rd or 4th generation off - meaning reprint from unknown source 3rd or 4th time. There isn't a single SEALD person in Derbyshire at all! Which mean the SEALD itself may not be the true spelling. W. David Samuelsen

Hi All, With the X-mas season upon us , I am forwarding this letter that one of our members sent to another list and I think it is a message worth posting on this list also: Thanks Allison for sharing this most inportant message with us.. Alice FROM: afranks1@juno.com (Alison Gene Franks) Hi Again: In thinking about loved ones who are away from home and not going to be able to be home for the holidays, if you have someone who is in the military and you have an address for this person, why not share this and maybe all our listers will send this person a card or note telling how we got the name and wishing them happy holidays. You have no idea how much these people would welcome mail that is addressed to them, and not occupant. There are lot of us military people out there that would have loved getting mail from someone to show that there was a person who did care, and it didn't matter than the person was known personally or not.
