It's strange that Peter doesn't show up in the Royalston Vital Records....from research done through Paul Barton's web page, is shows Peter, and his father, Peter Sr. living in Royalston, Mass. From the dates of Peter and Rachel's marriage, and Peter's age...I assumed that Rachel was from Royalston also. Guess this just shows that you can't assume anything in genealogy. The only other twist I can figure is that the Aldriches are allied with the Davis family...maybe of NY. I found an entry in the autograph book of my Ggrandmother, Sophia Stockwell Mathews <granddaughter of Rachel> in which a person was signed "Your Cousin, _____ Davis". I can't remember the first name, but it was a female. The Davis surname doesn't fit in anywhere so far...so it's just a hunch that it would be on the Aldrich side. I also found a pedigree or Family Tree of the Aldrich family in which the Davis family is mentioned also. Maybe I'll find out soon!! Rachel's family is a mystery!!! Jennifer

Dear John, I don't have the information you seek, but I have a suggestion. Perhaps you should ask John Aldrich to post this query on the NAA AWOL web page. It might get a little more exposure. Good Morning David and All: Elijah J. Aldrich was the son of Benoni Aldrich (AJ #667) GAG Vol1 pg 232. From looking at the family, all of the persons mentioned were nieces, nephews, and some grand nieces and nephews of Elijah, with the exception of Elizabeth A. Perkins. It does not appear that Elijah ever married Joel was his brother that he mentions. Happy Holidays Alison
