Good Morning All, Hi been hiding out for quite sometime figured I better post my names to the list especially since it's been kind of quiet. If anyone has any of the following surnames in their family especially in the DeKalb Co., AL area around Henegar, Fort Payne, and Headsprings area and or near the Georgia border of these towns please e-mail me I wish to exchange information. The following names I am researching are: John Lusk b.abt 1790's, James Lusk (poss. son of John) born in Tenn. abt. 1810-20, and James Anthony Lusk( son of James) born Abt. 1836/37 in Headsprings, DeKalb Co., Alabama he married to Lucy Ann Smith, daughter of Wade Hampton Smith and Salvia (Sallie) Fryer. Salvia had a sister Nancy who married a Joseph Lusk, brother to my James Anthony Lusk. Joseph and Nancy had one daughter Mary Lusk, who married to John Bray, Jr. they lived at Trent, Georgia on Rt.#2. Also James Anthony Lusk had a cousin named Allen Lea or Lee who along with James Anthony Lusk, Joseph Lusk (bro. of James A.) the three served in the Civil War together. I have info. on that. Lucy Ann Smith, had sister Maria Smith who married a Thomas Crabtree and a sister Cornelia(Nellie?) Smith who married John Bray, Sr. father of the John Bray, Jr. I previously listed. Lucy Ann Smith also had a brother Dempsey Smith, who had two sons named James Smith and Whitman Smith...they lived at Smith's Gap near Henegar. Lucy Ann Smith had two other brothers named Matthew and Alexander Smith, of which either had any known desc. James Anthony Lusk's father James was born in Tenn. and is said to have served in the Seminole Wars as an Indian Scout under Gen. Andrew Jackson. Time frame of all these families: 1790's-1870's Any help would be much appreciated. Happy Spring Everyone! Thanks, Monica Carlstrom of Ketchikan, Alaska >>> moni@ktn.net
