Froggie, The names you mention do not sound familiar, but I do know that some of the Dearman people in DeKalb and Etowah Counties were known as McDeerman ca 1890s. Buster Doogan killed a McDeerman (I think John) on the top of Sand Mountain either in the 1890s or early 1900s. This is likely the original form of the name for many of the Dearman people. I will check my sources and let you know if there are others listed.
