Ellis > I think it was named either for Capt. Edward Beason of Guilford co. NC or one of his descendants. Capt. Beason was the first couzen of my ancester, Thomas Mendenhall. Capt Beason settled in St. Clair co. Alabama before 1820. Capt. Beason was from a Quaker Family.
