    1. Josiah HENDERSON
    2. Glenda Dubak
    3. I am still searching for parents of Josiah HENDERSON b ca 1793/5 SC married Edeline (Edy) b ca 1803 SC. On 1830 Buncombe Co NC census with 4 sons: 1 five to ten years, 3 one to five years. Some of their neighbors were GILBERTS, HUGGINS, MC CALLS, SPAINS, PICKETS. 1840 Greene Co TN confirms that 3 of these 4 sons are still with them - oldest son now being 15-20 years of age has probably married. Two additional sons and 2 daughters have now been born. They are living near other HENDERSON families with heads of house being: George, John, Joseph and Margaret. It is quite possible that one of these could be Josiah's oldest son. 1850 Walker Co GA family with James Matthew b 1833, Matilda b 1834, Elizabeth b 1836, Josiah b 1839, Edey b 1843 and David A b 1844. 1860 they are now in Walker Co AL and by 1870 in Cherokee Co AL. Three of Josiah's children married children of Benjamin Cole. William Cole married a Sinard/Siniard/Sinyard. Henderson's also intermarried with Brock, Sinard et al, Brown, Brook, Mitchell, Kerley/Kearley. Any help will be appreciated. Some researchers believe Josiah to be Johnston Josiah son of Joseph and Jane Pickens Henderson, grandson of William and Agnes Johnston Henderson (Agnes is d/o Josiah Johnston). Others believe him to be James Josiah the son of Charles and Elizabeth Montgomery (Edia-Edey) Henderson. What do you think? TIA, Glenda

    2. BUSBY-CLAYTON-CHITWOOD-KITCHEN-SWAFFORD-STARLING-WARD-NORMAN- DAUGHERTY-KEELAND-WILLIS--TAYLOR-SCOTT-TATE-MAYES- and many others married into the McPHERSON families and were in DeKalb Co., from the 1830's on. They lived in and around the Lebanon, Rainsville, Dogtown, Ft. Payne area and some are buried at Walker's Chapel, Trinity, Lebanon, Lankford, Glenwood Cemeteries. Some moved away to Grapevine, Texas, Arkansas, and Missouri, before 1900. It is believed that the McPHERSONS came to DeKalb in the late 1830's from Roane Co., TN. In the 1850's, some of Isaac and Mary McPhersons children were living in Marion C., TN, (William in 1850), Pontotoc, MS, and some lived in Dade Co., GA. Would like contact with anyone researching the McPHERSON, MAYES, or KITCHEN background of any of these. Paul R. White WhitePaul@aol.com

    3. I have had many requests for information about the Agricultural Censuses. Call your local library and ask if they have a government documents department, then ask that dept if they have ag census holdings. I was told that few libraries have these holdings. I accessed the ones at Lin Henley, Birmingham Public Library in Bham, AL. These are really great resources and contain information about property, livestock, crops produced, etc. Good luck, Glenda
