I am trying to find a Sand Mountain Cemetery. My GGGF, Ambrose Ripley Heatherly was buried there sometime around the 1870's. He was living in Walker Co., AL prior to his death but had lived in Dekalb Co., AL from 1838 until about 1850 and most of his children were born there. Cant find a Sand Mountain Cemetery anywhere and thought I would try here since he had lived there earlier. Thanks. J.D. Does anyone know where the McDowells are buried. I thought that they were buried at Concord Cemetery. All of my mother's brothers and sisters were born on Saulty creek near Henegar. Her father was a EZZELL and mother a McDOWELL. My great grandfather Thomas Green EZZELL is buried at Unity Cemetery. I plan on visiting the area about the 20th of November. Hello. Someone wrote in about Black Oak cem in Dekalb county. I had been to the Cem where Maredith Light and wife was bur. I was not aware that there was an older cem accross the street. Does anyone else have knowledge of this and records of the cem? It is supose to be on a Mr Berrys property now. The cem I had gone to is also a very old cem with the church gone so the other one must be really old. Perhaps some of the older Lights are there? Can always hope. Maxine

Thanks for all of the replies regarding Church records. I believe there may be some confusion regarding my request. I surveyed both of these cemeteries back in 1991. What I'm looking for is actual church records which might contain burial information. Both cemeteries have many unnamed graves, which I am trying to identify. Thanks again, Tracy Wilson Jackson Co., AL
Does anyone know if there are any records for the Black Oak Baptist Church which burned down in the early to mid 1900s? It was located in the community of Black Oak (near Grove Oak). I have surveyed both the new & old cemeteries, but due to vandalism in the old cemetery, many graves are unidentifiable. Thanx for any assistance, Tracy Wilson Jackson Co., AL
