MISS FREDA STIENDORFF PASSES AWAY Miss Freda Stiendorff, The beloved daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Herman Stiendorff, died at her home at an early hour Sunday morning after a short illness. It was a shock to her many friends, very few knowing her illness. A gentle or lovable character than possessed by lovable charter than possessed by this young girl would be hard to find and she number her friends by her acquances. A few months ago Miss Freda graduated from a business college in Birmingham, making a record in her studies and winning honors as a star pupil. On Tuesday afternoon the burial took place in the Protestant cemetry, where she will sleep the dreamless sleep until the resurection morn, when God's children will awaken unto life everlasting. Cards of Thanks We would like to thank all of our good friends and neighbors for their help and words of sympathy and comfort in the death of our daughter and sister, Freda Steindorff. The Family. TUBERCULOSIS IN STATE SEES DROP State death toll of Malady Set At 1,960 For First 11 Months of 1929 There were 1,960 persons died from tuberculosis in Alabama the first 11 months of 1929, according to a survey by the Alabama Tuberculosis Association. In 1928 deaths from this disease reached 2,331 and the 1929 figure is expected to show a satisfactory decline. In July, September and November of 1929 this ddisease was the second cause of death in the state, headed only by hear disease. In 1928 the same record was established. During the first two months of the year there were 2,243 deaths from influenza. This was a considered abnormal and epidemic, however, it was not used to affect ratios of regular death cause. Mr. and Mrs. C. W. Wells, who have spent several months in the home of Mrs. D. O. McKoy, left recently for their home in South Carolina. A more pleasant couple have never been in Cullman.
