Dear Belva, According to the cemetery listing of Live Oak Cemetery in Selma, Al (Dallas Co.), there is a listing for: McCORD, Russell, M.D.---June 5,1833 to January 8, 1885 McCORD, Ann Eliza---April 4, 1834 to June 26, 1930 (this person was buried right beside him, so it would be pretty safe to assume she was his wife.) These are the only McCords listed for that cemetery. In the book,"Selma: Her Institutions and Her Men", there is a wirte-up about HUGH FERGUSON and it mentions that the"..eldest of his daughters was married on the 19th of October, 1858, to Dr. Russell McCord of Columbia, SC". There is more on Hugh Ferguson and who is wife was, etc if these people from Brazil want the information. Let me know if you need it and I will type it all out for you . Or if they have an e-mail address, I will send it all to them. I have always been facinated with the "Confederados" story of leaving the South after the war and going to Brazil. Are these people decendants of those people? I would be glad to take a picture, but I live in Forest, Mississippi.
