Belva, I do not know if he returned to the States. His son, John, did return for a short time when his sister's husband, Warrington Wingfield, died. Although, we have not been able to ascertain exactly when this was. He returned to Brazil when he felt that his sister was going to be well cared for by her sons. The descendants of this family are still there.
