If anyone has access to the 1870 or 80 Dallas Co census - I have a major brick wall there. My great grandmother was Mattie (JACKSON) BRASINGTON. She was born in Selma in 1881. She told me that her father was Thomas JACKSON, who worked for a Selma newspaper. I know that her mother was a FLOYD because when both of her parents died when she was very young, she went to live with her grandparents, the FLOYDs. I have been given info on marriages and burials in Selma which suggest that my great grandmother's parents were William T. (Thomas?) JACKSON and Kate FLOYD.
