My only requirements regarding Roll Calls is that you DO NOT put "Roll Call" as the subject. It isn't helpful to anyone who previews their messages or receives the Digest nor is it meaningful when folks are searching the list messages by thread. Remember that all these messages are archived and that they're searchable by surname, topic, and the more recent posts are also threaded. Just go to RootsWeb's main page http://www.rootsweb.com and follow the search links. So, 1. Please put your surnames or whatever your actual topic is as the subject of the message, and 2. Expand on the subject a little. This list is only a few months old and when we first started we did a modified Roll Call and I posted some of the mini-histories that came across the list on the Dallas County website. Will be happy to add any new ones. Also, I have chosen not to make the default reply a "reply to the list" because sometimes folks just want to go private. However, if you have ANY info that you think might even remotely be of interest to another person on the list, please don't hesitate to hit that "reply to all" button.
