I am looking for any information on Rufus Cochran. The only information we have about this ancestor is as follows: We believe he was born in Selma, Ala in 1858. The family stories are that his parents were killed by indians and Rufus was sent to live with kin. Another story is that he traveled to Texas with a family named Bell. We do know he married in Waco Texas to Sarah (Lizzie) Halford in 1879, and his daughter Mary Olivea Cochran married Clarence Jenkins in 1901. If anyone has information or can direct me to places where I can research, I would be eternally grateful. We have been knocking against this brickwall for a long time.
