Reposted from the Dallas County Query Board (closed): I am looking for any information on my grandfather Morris Smith. He was born in Dallas County. September 17, 1885. His mother's name was Dorthy (Mills) Smith. He was fathered by a white man name Hawkins. He married a women named Ethel Rebecca Moss. They raised a family of three children in Bessemer Alabama. My grandfather owned a store there and worked in the coal mines. My great-grandfather came from somewhere in the Carolina's to Dallas County, his name was Morris Mills and he made wooden farm plows for a living. Any one with any information please contact me.
