After much research and a few trips to Selma we still haven't found the info we need.Maybe some one out there can help. J.Henry Mathews' first name is James. He was listed on the census as J. Henry, so I guess he went by Henry. In the Civil War he fought in the Battle of Selma.He was in Captain Lockett's Company "The City Guards"-9th Alabama Home Guard.He was killed after the battle. We haven't been able find out where or when. Where is he buried? Also does anyone know who his parents were? Any info at all will be much appreciated.
