I have recently started research on my grmother and grgrmother Rebecca Lois Samples and Susie Parker Samples. Susie Parker married Sam(uel) Samples and had 5 children - James, Walter, Mary, Mattie and Rebecca (my grmother). I understand that the Samples lived on (or near) Minter Ave. in Selma. Rebecca then married R. J. Anderson and moved to Detroit, Michigan. Two children were born from this union: Theresa Lois Anderson (my mother) and R. J. II . Rebecca was widowed while still pregnant with R.J. II . She then married James Edward Ward and 1 child was born from this union (James E. Ward, Jr.) Rebecca died 8 months after the birth of James, Jr. in appx Dec 1950 - Jan 1951. Funeral services were held in Michigan and the body was sent south to be buried. Rebecca's sister, Mattie lived here in Michigan until her death in 1997-1998. I also understand that Susie Parker Samples died in 1973-1974. I have been unsucessful in researching Social Security death records to find informaton! about either of my relatives.
