Hi Linda: Charlotte sent me the actual census for 1830, but I've only gotten a written copy of the 1840. I fully agree that it is quite suspicious about the "D. Groves", and another thing, my Isaac McElroy is also shown in the 1840 census, and he was Davenport Graves' father-in-law. The written copy for D. Groves I have shows him to be in the white male category 40-50. By 1840 he would have been about 54, so this is what is throwing me off. Would you mind checking again for me to see if it really might show him in the 50-60 category. And, I understand, mistakes were made. And, I probably mentioned before, I found a record where Davenport was witnessing a will in late 1840 in Dallas Co, so I know he was around. I really do appreciate your help, more than I can say.
