    1. [ALDALLAS-L] Dallas Chat
    2. I am also interested in the idea of a DALLAS Co. Chat Group. I am looking for information on the RITCHIE family of Dallas Co. John Calhoun Ritchie married Jane Elizabeth McBride Campbell in ca.1834. They leave for Itwamba MS by 1840, then on into Bradley Co. AR in 1858. Would appreciate any help. 3. Frankie, According to the book SELMA; HER INSTITUTIONS AND HER MEN there was, in 1839, a W. S. Ritchie from Delaware who opened an office as a civil engineer and surveyor, but died August 16, 1840 of billious fever. In Mississippi there is an Itawamba County located in north Mississippi just at the Alabama line and there is a Marshall County wherein was a town named Ittawamba. This little community was a few miles away from Holly Springs, Ms. which is in North Mississippi just a little south of the Tennessee line. Holly Springs and Ittawamba had a bitter struggle over which town would be named county seat. Holly Springs won and now there is little rememberance that the town of Ittawamba was ever there. ( The information about the counties is from a book, HOMETOWN, MISSISSIPPI by James F. Brieger.) I hope this information has been of some help.
