Dear Sharon, This book was finished in 1879 and I didn't find your ancestor (Moorer.Moore) thank you for letting me know he was Africian American---there is a different place to look. It saves me time to know this. In 1855, was he born a slave? I was hoping I could find his father or grandfather, but was not able to. However, good luck with your search.
