A request for a LA Confederate Pension File has resulted in my receipt of a copy of a 1915 letter from George Phillips of Selma regarding my relative, John Ross [J.Ross] Callen. Mr. Phillips gives a brief summary of his own Confederate war service in order to establish his credentials to discuss J.Ross's.
