STURDIVANTS John I am doing research on my ancestors the Sturdivants. Purchased in 1957 through a bequest from Robert Daniel Sturdivant and operated by Sturdivant Museum Association willed Antiques from their Estate "Summerfield Plantation" to the City of Selma to open "Sturdivant Hall" as a Museum. John Sturdivant had a business in 1830 that was called "Sturdivant & Hill." They were "The Gin Makers." John Sturdivant was also one of "The Selma Rangers" who volunteer to fight the "Creeks" in East AL. "Tuskegee' They left on 5/25/1836 and returned 8 weeks later 7/14/1836.Their was a Ball and Dance held in their honor.
