Robert Joseph FOWLER. My grandfather RJF,Jr. was a native of Selma. We're looking for information about his family. In The Story of Selma by Walter M. Jackson, there are references to Robert J. FOWLER and R.J. FOWLER., from the minutes of the Selma City Council, 1881. RJF Jr. went to Oklahoma and is buried in Oklahoma City. He was a railroad detective for many years, as supposedly was his father. We have no information about siblings or other relatives. Family story: the elder FOWLER was known for taking in children. It was said one never knew how many were going to be seated for supper until they all got there. One set of orphans came to supper and stayed in the household until they married.
