GADS, I haven't heard the name Bogue Chitto in YEARS!! I'd forgotten all about that place. It's a very small community (?) on the highway west of Selma towards Cahaba. I'm not really sure that it qualifies as a township 'cause I don't believe there's a post office there or anything, at least not in the past 50 years I'm familiar with! I'm pretty sure that any cemeteries that exist would be small church cemeteries, which wouldn't be under any type of public cemetery registry. Sorry I can't be more encouraging. Would Airey Mount Academy have been any where near Old Town? I have never been sure exactly where Airey Mount Academy was. Appreciated the location info on Old Town--didn't know these particulars. KHill
What is the location of this town? Are there any records on the burial places there? My GG Grandfather William H. Sadler was buried in that area. He died 16 Dec. 1844 in Bogue Chitto, Dallas County, Alabama. Help in gathering any information on this family would be appreciated. Regards, Bo Sadler
Old Town is not the same as Old Cahaba. Kay

Go to this site: http://terraserver.microsoft.com/default.asp?W=2 Where it asks place to find input Old Town, Alabama. Hit GO and then a page will appear with three choices. Select TOPO map and up will come a map showing Old Town. It is south of US 80 on the Dallas-Lowndes County line. Good luck!

There is an Old Town in the southeastern part of Dallas County. It would be south of Highway 80 and just a little north of Pleasant Hill which is also in Dallas County. I remember going there to see members of the Hardy family. There is an old cemetery there. I can remember only one house. It is probably near the Lowndes (Sp?) county line. Hope this helps. I do not have my maps of the area handy. Tarver Rountree, Pensacola, Florida native of Selma, Alabama.
