Could you tell me about the Confederate monument in the middle of the cemetery? I am interested in Thomas Norris who is listed on it but died up here in Chapel Hill, NC. I am looking for any of his desendents . Thanks Ernest Dollar
Reuben White and Holly family are not in the Vital Data from Cemeteries in Dallas County, Al either. Know there were Whites in Lowndes County--I don't have a list for that county. Best of luck. ----- Original Message ----- From: <CarBurCo@aol.com> To: <ALDALLAS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 21, 2000 4:47 PM Subject: [ALDALLAS-L] Re: ALDALLAS-D Digest V00 #107 > If someone is looking up people buried in Dallas County, could you please > look up REUBEN WHITE d ca 1 June 1818. James, No Rascos in Live Oak Cemetery, but I remember seeing in Prosperity Cemetery list a Mary Ann Moore, wife of B. R. RASCO, 3 Oct 1854---26 March 1879. To others on this list, I can't do look-up on any cemetery except Live Oak, because that's the only book I have. I just had a scrap from Prosperity Cemetery. Good luck in your search, James. Suzanne, See if there is a Jesse or Elizabeth Rasco in Live Oak Cemetery. Elizabeth died prior to 1840 and Jesse Rasco died in 1840. James R. Rasco
If someone is looking up people buried in Dallas County, could you please look up REUBEN WHITE d ca 1 June 1818. Also ELIZABETH PERRY, his widow who, by the time she died would have been ELIZABETH HOLLY wife of REV. JAMES HOLLY. SHE died 11 June 1853. Thanks so much, Carole
There is no Reuben White or Elizabeth Holly buried in Live Oak Cemetery in Selma. Please remember, though, that there are many, many more cemeteries in Dallas County, Al. Wishing you good luck in your search. I checked the Atlas of Cemeteries by County (Univ of Alabama) but don't see it listed in either Dallas or Wilcox. The atlas, while extensive, doesn't list every cemetery especially small family ones or ones that are no longer in use. Maybe someone else is more familiar with the area or other resources? B.J. B. J. Smothers, Jim Crocker: I was wondering if there is a cemetery called William Hannah's Burying Ground in Dallas County, Alabama? Perhaps it was just a family burying plot on a farm. If you know of it's location or have seen it cited anywhere, would you please let me know? I have heard that it is mentioned in a book about William Brown by Helen Rugeley. Supposedly my William Brown (b. 1752 in NC) is buried there either late 1846 or early 1847. Thank You for any help you might be able to give, D. Pearson debeejay@aol.com
Virginia, I have a John Meador born March 18, 1762 (died after 1840) who was married to a Jemima Melton. Shows that they were married on April 5, 1792 and that she died October 6, 1796. He then married Delilah Jones (born about 1780) in 1797. She died after 1870. I don't know where they lived and don't have names for any of their children. The source of this information is shown to be Phil Crowther and SuZQR@aol.com. I don't know them,do you?? If you think this is the same John, his father's name was shown to be Thomas Meador and his mother was Keziah Moberly. I have it farther back than that if you think their is a connection. Looking forward to hearing from you!! Larry vgrafton wrote: > I am from John Meador, born 17 oct 1760 died23 Oct > 1833, he left Will in Dallas Co Al 1833. Which Meador/Meadows family are you researching? Several descendents of Daniel Meador ended up in Perry and Greene Counties, Alabama. I know my gr,gr, gr grandmother was a Drucilla Meador who married Hardy Averett and lived in the 1830's through the 1850's and 60's in Five Mile Beat of Perry County. In 1867, this area became part of Hale County. Larry vgrafton wrote: > Are there any Meador/Meadows in Live Oak.? Thanks > very much > Virginia
