I must leave the list for awhile because of illness. I hope to be back soon. I have enjoyed all your correspondence and hope to enjoy it again. Good luck to all of you in whatever search you may be conducting. Fond regards, Suzanne Shuttleworth Coats
Dear Sharon, This book was finished in 1879 and I didn't find your ancestor (Moorer.Moore) thank you for letting me know he was Africian American---there is a different place to look. It saves me time to know this. In 1855, was he born a slave? I was hoping I could find his father or grandfather, but was not able to. However, good luck with your search. I am forwarding the message from the seller of this book, who contacted me after I put out a search for it. I will not be buying this copy, but I thought some of you might be interested. It is filled with the history of Selma and contains many, many surnames and dates. Irma Evans Jim Leftwich wrote: > Here is the description: > > Jackson, Walter. THE STORY OF SELMA. Good Morning Everyone, The chat rooms will be open 24-7 for anyone who cares to use them anytime other during our weekly chats. I've reserved Thursday from 8-10 CST for a regular county chats. I won't be able to join you this evening and don't have substitute hosts but please feel free to check in about 8pm CST and see whether anyone else is there. If so, stay. In my absence would someone who's been at our earlier chats please take on the role of greeter and host to make newbies feel at home and moderate? I'd really appreciate it. And if you could just drop me a line afterwards (or post it to the list) summarizing the session, that'd be super! I'm still working on a solution that will allow us to log sessions. the Internet Genealogical Society's IRC channel is one possiblity but I haven't heard back from anyone yet about whether I can reserve Thursdays 8-10pm for our chats.
