    1. [ALDALLAS-L] Re:Population data for 1825-1875
    2. Greg, I will be happy to let you know. I haven't received any information yet, on Population data for the years 1825-1875. All I have at hand is an old book: Historical Atlas of the United States, by Clifford Lord and Elizabeth H. Lord. 1944. This book has a lot of data on entire areas of the country, and of whole Territories, but I haven't yet found any statistics by state or by town. A search of the net hasn't yet provided anything for those years. There may not be such information available, but if there is, maybe someone on the list will know where we can find it. I will certainly post to the list, anything I find. Arlene

    3. Thank You so very much. I'll keep looking/searching. To answer your question...was he born a slave? I'm a novice. The time/year frame makes say yes. In/on the 1870 Census, I found him in the household of an older brother, Anderson/Sallie Moorer, Farmersville Beat No. 5. Pleasant Hill P.O. Page 9-#374. Thanks, again. Sharon/Connecticut.

    2. Thanx for the help, but I think these are not my ancestors. I have no indication of the Isle of Wight, VA connection, of course, one never knows. My Edward Jones is described as a freedman in a 1867 deed re a land purchase between himself and Nathaniel Waller, who was the executor for Archibald P. McCurdy, a large landowner in the Dallas County area of Alabama. Thanx for your information and best regards. William C. Jones

    3. This info is so far back I doubt if it will help you. The name Edward JONES sounded familiar to me so I checked my file and found four generations back in VA: Edward JONES JR died before 1730 in Isle of Wight County, VA. He was married to Deborah EXUM d/o William and Jane EXUM. Edwards JONES III was born in 1695 in Isle of Wight County, VA. He was married to Abigail SUGARS. He died before 1750 in Warren Co, VA. He also had a son Edward JONES and I have no info on him. Their daughter Priscilla was married to a RANSOM and that line married into the PLUMMERS and eventually yielded Isaac Howze PLUMMER who was married into my JOHNSON family in Perry County AL Some of this info was obtained from the web site http://www2.netdoor.com/~will472 ----- Original Message ----- From: Bob Jones <bobjones0671@yahoo.com> To: <ALDALLAS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, June 21, 2000 6:10 PM Subject: [ALDALLAS-L] Edward JONES > Looking for info on my grandfather's grandfather > -Edward Jones.
