    1. [ALDALLAS-L] Hardy and Ragsdale Families from South Carolina
    2. Liz Forman
    3. Some of my ancestors (the Hardys and Ragsdales) left Union/Fairfield Counties, SC in the early 1800's and supposedly went to Alabama. I am looking especially for John H. Ragsdale, Samuel Hardy (and wife Elizabeth) as well as John's son (and Samuel and Elizabeth's grandson), Samuel Norman Ragsdale. Would appreciate any leads! Thanks, Liz Forman

    1. Re: [ALDALLAS-L] McCullough, McCulloch, McCullers, and variations
    2. Thanks Linda. I do know what you mean about changes...when we were painting and wallpapering my room, I put some things away, so they wouldn't get scattered. I don't know if I will ever get them all properly sorted again! Arlene

    1. Re: [ALDALLAS-L] McCullough, McCulloch, McCullers, and variations
    2. I know what you mean about getting old. Sometimes I wonder where my brain went. I will look as I am putting away all my "stuff" today and see if I can recall the name. I got a new compuer and because of a larger monitor had to get a new desk for it so you know what that means! I am still looking for Bennett information and Boyles, Tadlock and Craig. Take care. Linda

    3. My g-g-g-uncle, Chesley Gwin (aka Chess and Charley) m1. 22 Mar 1850 to Fannie Bell; m2. to the widow Blevins. Your Matilda Edgar Phillips (who married William Blevins) died in 1837, so SHE is not this Widow Blevins, but her daughter-in-law could've been, especially since her widower, William, died in Dallas Co. where he likely would've been staying with his son/daughter-in-law were he ill or incapacitated. Next is my paragraph on this g-g-g-uncle: 4.4--Chesley (aka Chess, Charley) Gwin; [Was his name Charles Chesley Gwin? Uncle James' records showed his name as Chesley (aka Chess), but Rev. Cotten's diary calls him Charley, who, in Cotten's 22 March 1850 entry, was "getting married tonight to Miss Bell at Bouge Chitto".] m1. 22 Mar 1850 at Bouge Chitto (I asked my dad, Adrian S. Gwin, where Bouge Chitto is, and he said he guessed it was somewhere on Bouge Chitto Creek, which his family had to cross every time they went from McDowell to Selma and back--he says it's pronounced BOH-guh CHIT-uh Creek) to Fannie Bell, many ch.; m2.
