    3. I think ALL the WORRELLS buried at New Live Oak Cemetery in Dallas County are my relatives. While doing research on the Worrell family I found this marriage record from Dallas County. Sallie E. HOLMES married Magnus WORRELL on 5 Nov 1890 in Dallas Co. I wonder if anyone knows either the HOLMES or WORRELL here. Thanks. :) Nannette ----- Original Message ----- From: Woody/Suzanne Coats <coats@localink4.com> To: <ALDALLAS-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Sunday, March 05, 2000 10:17 PM Subject: Re: [ALDALLAS-L] HATCHER > "Bob Hatcher (by way of B.J. 2. Susan Herring
    3. Hi Ann Blakely, Elijah Tabor and Susan Sims were my gggreat grandparents. Their son George W. Tabor and Mary Winnie Edmunds were my gggrandparents. Their son John Burrell (Burl) Tabor and Josephine Anita Butler were my ggrandparents. Their son Charles Louis Tabor and Mary Pearl Hutto were my grandparents. Their son James Hutto Tabor was my dad. I don't know when Elijah and Susan moved to the Shiloh area between Farmerville and Bernice in Union Parish, Louisiana, but I do show a son named Nathan who was born about 1848. This must be your g-grandfather who married Margaret Adeline Thompson (2nd wife)and Molly Bagwell (1st wife), and is buried in Dallas, TX. My gggrandfather George would have been his older brother. George died during the Civil War. The story goes that Elijah went to get his son's body and became ill. He never fully recovered and died a couple of years later. I found out several years ago that my sister-in-law (married to my husband's brother) is also descended from George's wife Mary Winnie Edmunds, by her second husband. I have been in contact with another descendant (of Elijah and Susan) whose uncle wrote a brief family history before he died which said Elijah had 16 children. I show only ten. How many do you have? I would love to exchange information with you. I have familytreemaker 6.0 and can send and receive GEDCOMs via email. Or I can send you a copy snail mail. I am anxious to here more about Reddick's parents!! Look forward to hearing from you again. Susan (Tabor Herring) Homer, Louisiana (30 miles from Shiloh, where Elijah and Susan lived)

    3. Sharon in CT and Mr . Harrell in Baltimore I am a descendant of Harrells of Dallas County, AL. While driving through the area about twenty years ago I stopped at Harrell (formerly Harrell Cross-roads) and was told that there were no white Harrells remaining in the area. I still have a ticket for Fortune's Ferry which my great grandfather operated at or near where US 80 crosses the Cahaba River. My Harrrell ancestors were Gabriel Holmes HARRELL (b 1778 Bertie County, NC, m Frances HARRELL 1798, moved family and slaves to Dallas County about 1818, d 1829), Hardiman Israel HARRELL (b 1809, m Nancy Prince FORT 1828, d Benton County, FL 1850), Elias Fort HARRELL (b 1831 Dallas Co, m Henrietta Frances WATT Oktibbeha Co, MS 1858, operated Fortune's Ferry and was in retail business in Dallas Co, later in Shelby, d 1895 Shelby Co AL), Tennessee HARRELL (b 1866 Dallas Co, m William Gibson HAYES Dallas Co 1888, d 1940 Meridian, MS). I know there were several presumably unrelated Harrell families in Dallas County as well as the other sons and grandsons of Gabriel H. Harrell. I have been unable to establish Gabriel's parentage although family tradition states that he and Frances ("Fanny") were cousins. Her lineage we can document back about three generations in NC. I am interested in the family connections and the history of the family and area (both good and bad from our present perspective). Such information would be greatly appreciated. Thanks - William G. 2. Curt, I was not really fishing for you to look these up. JUST THOUGHT someone else may be connected with the family who knows more about REUBEN and ELIZABETH's families in NC and SC I am fairly sure this is the situation with Elizabeth Perry and Reuben White: REUBEN WHITEb ca 1770 in Anson County, NC; d ca 1 June 1818 DALLAS County, Al m. (1798 in South Carolina) to ELIZABETH PERRY b ca 1776 Franklin County, NC. She died 11 June, 1853 in DALLAS CO AL...BUT she would not be listed as ELIZABETH WHITE as by that time she had remarried ...to REV JAMES HOLLY/HOLLEY....so she would be listed as ELIZABETH HOLLY. REV HOLLY was from South Carolina originally. The children of ELIZABETH PERRY and REUBEN WHITE were DAVID WHITE who m. JANE JOWERS TEMPERANCE WHITE MARTHA PERRY WHITE (PATSY) M LORENZO FISHER JANE WHITE M. CRANE SINCLAIR JOHN PHILLIPS WHITE JOSEPH ALLEN WHITE m 1. Miss SAFFOLD 2. CELESTE TINSLEY ELIZABETH L. WHITE DELILAH WHITE m. a JACKSON In a message dated 2/21/00 10:25:59 AM Eastern Standard Time, CurtL@email.msn.com writes: << Good Morning Carole I did not mention it in my previous message, but all of the people I gave you lived in the same area of Lowndes Co., AL. The 1840 Census Index shows a David White in Lowndes Co, AL. I would bet that the Elizabeth White living with the McKees I gave you is his wife. Since most of the people settled in Lowndes Co in the 1820s & 1830s, I looked in the 1820 Census Index and their was a David & Reuben White and Perrys to include an Elizabeth Perry living in Conn. Since Elizabeth White and Olivia McKee showed birthplace of Conn in the 1850 Census, that is where you will probably find your familly. They may have stopped in NC on their way to AL. During my research, I have found that a good many of settlers of AL, especially the one in the East Central part of AL, had lived for awhile in NC, SC & GA prior to settling in that part of AL in the mid 1830s after the defeat and removal of the Creek Indians. These are just my thoughts on this. You may have information that shoots this out of the water. >>
