Karla, I had lunch with my mom and aunts (Murphy side) I asked and one of them said she would hunt down some papers that Grandma had written about her family. I do know that the greatgrandmother (or her people; I am named for came from Denmark. I believe Grandma said their name when they came to America was Muir.
