Howdy ladies and gents. I am William Grover Bates, a relative of William Thomas Bates Jr that married Cora Cordelia McMinn. William arrived in Cullman Co shortly after 1880 in the company of his sister Sarah "Sallie" Jane Goodson Bates TRAYLOR, her husband, James Lincoln TRAYLOR, and his youngest brother, Robert Lee BATES. Sallie and James divorced sometime before 1900 and I have been looking for information as to what happened to her afterwards though I suspect she remarried there in Cullman Co while James went back to Fayette Co, Ga where they had left from. Sallie and William are from right across a river on the southeastern side of Fayette Co in Spalding Co. The main purpose of posting this to the list is I can only look up information on the internet due to distance from my present home in El Paso, Tx and having to rely on a lot of people for accurate, or even possibly suspicions, information on my BATES family tree which in branching out into the spousal lines. I am also in the process of writing a book on the Genealogy of John "C." BATES with the help of two other researchers that live in Spalding Co, Ga and DeKalb Co, Al. Tks and che-ers Bill Bates
