    3. The Heritage of Blount Co., AL, Reunion edition, 1989, The Blount Co. Historical Society, pg. 30 Blount County was reated February 7, 1818. Shelby County was created February 7, 1818. St. Clair County was created November 20, 1818 from lands that were a part of Shelby County. Jefferson County was created December 13, 1819, with its land coming mostly from Blount County, part from Tuskaloosa County. Walker County was created November 26, 1823, mostly from Blount County with the south line of Blount County being rearranged. Marshall County was created January 9, 1836, from Cherokee Indian lands with a little from Blount County. Etowah County was created December 7, 1866, from Indian lands. CULLMAN COUNTY was created January 24, 1877, from Blount County and other counties, the town of Hanceville being half in Blount, half in Cullman. In 1885, this line moved one mile north. In 1901, the line moved to the Mulberry River.
