The Cullman Alabama Tribune 11 Oct 1894 Died on the 6th inst., at Jones' Chapel, Ala., Dr. W.W. Young, after years of suffering from inflammatory rheumatism. The Cullman Alabama Tribune, 18 Jul 1895 Elijah Lovell. It is with a sad heart that I attempt, this morning, to chronicle the death of our worthy and respected fellow citizen, friend and brother, Elijah Lovell, which occurred July 10th, 1895, at his home near Jones Chapel, this county. Rev. Lowell was born in Raborn County, Georgia, March 4th, 1833, married in Fannin County, Georgia in 1852. Obeyed the Gospel later on and identified himself with the Christian brethren. Brother Lovell was an affectionate husband and a kind father. I knew him as a friend, and in his death I sustain a loss that makes friendship a mourner at death's carnival. I also knew him as a Christian, his daily life was a commentary on his faith in Christ. May his christian life and children be resigned to His dispensation, and follow Jesus; to follow him is to imitate him, walk in his steps, do the commandments of God, for he always did the tings that pleased his Father. This will give you a right to the tree of life, also the privilege of entering in through the gates into the City of god, where we trust you will find husband and father. Could he speak to you from that land he would say, weep not for me, I now rest from all my labors, and am comforted. Should he speak again he would say, "children come home, where you can enjoy the honors that cluster around the throne of God, and see the fair forms of loved ones, who have lost sight of the gloomy grave and the dark river; the Christians tomb is radiant with light from the glorified Lord." Be a christian in deed, For when the final race is run, And Jordan's shore is past 'Twill be my friends, what have you done Not what have your professed. T.C. King.
