    2. The Cullman Tribune, November 19, 1908 Beautiful Odd Fellows Home To Be Dedicated April 28, 1909. The Odd Fellows Home at Cullman for the care of the widows and orphans and aged and indigent members of the order will be dedicated on April 28, 1909, the ninetieth anniversary of the organization, which was founded by John Wildy, in the city of Boston, Massachusetts. When completed it will represent an expenditure of fifty thousand dollars and will be the handsomest of the forty homes in operation at the present time in the different states. The home is designed to accommodate three hundred inmates and will be maintained by the levy of a small assessment on the membership of the Odd Fellows throughout the state. The order is rapidly growing and at present has about 24,000 members in Alabama. The style of architecture is Spanish Mission. The building is constructed entirely of concrete with a red tile roof, and is practically fire proof. It is 160 feet in length, 104 feet in width. A splendid observatory caps the main building.
