The Cullman Times Published on: 01-14-2005 Helen Sanders Funeral services for Helen Sanders, 63, of Hanceville will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 15, 2005, at Pleasant Grove United Methodist Church, the Rev. John Purifoy Jr. officiating, with burial in Colony Cemetery. The body will lie in state one hour prior to services. Hanceville Funeral Home is in charge of arrangements. Mrs. Sanders died Thursday, Jan. 6 in Cullman. She was born in Rockdale, Ga., on Sept. 2, 1941, to Florence and Gerri Lee Baker Gaither. She was preceded in death by her husband, Charlie Sanders; a son, Norman Smith Jr.; and her father, Florence Gaither. Survivors include a son, Tony Gaither of Hanceville; her mother, Gerri Lee Gaither of Conyers, Ga.; a sister, Mary Ann May of Decatur, Ga.; four brothers, Edward Gaither and Alfonzo Gaither, both of Decatur, Ga., Andrew Gaither of Yucaipa, Calif., and Danny Gaither of New Llano, La.; a grandchild, Akita Johnson; and a host of nieces, nephews and friends. Visitation will be from 6 to 9 p.m. today at the funeral home.
