Regarding the earlier discussion of the missing Gibson Graveyard, here are two mentions: The (Cullman) Alabama Tribune, 11 Feb 1892 Died-In Beat 8, this county, on the 8th inst. Neal McDuffey, aged 74 years, leaving a wife and two children, with many friends to mourn his loss. He came to this county from Georgia, in December last. His stay was short among us. The writer was called to attend his funeral at the Gibson Graveyard, near Iron Bridge, where he was laid to rest to await the resurrection morn. He had satisfactory evidence that all was well and would have part in the first resurrection, upon such the second death has no power. With this proof, we say to his mourning friends, be comforted. May the Lord bless the living and help us all be prepared to meet God in peace, is the prayer of the writer. C.A. Owen. The (Cullman) Alabama Tribune, 29 Sep 1892 Calvin Madison Brown, was born May 26th, 1870, died Sept. 22, 1892, aged 22 years, three months and fourteen days. He was a member of Bethsaida Baptist church four years before his death. His funeral was preached by the writer, at Gibson Graveyard, on Sept. 11th, 1892, to a large number of sorrowing friends. Truly, a good man has fallen in the bloom of youth, but our loss is his gain. Let me say to his sorrowing friends, weep not for Calvin, but try to meet him in the home of the blessed. To his parents, I will say, you cannot bring your son back, but you can go to him. May the Lord bless you in this hour of bereavement, and give you grace to sustain you through life, comfort you in death and give you abundant entrance into his kingdom above, in the prayer of your pastor. C.A. Owen. Does this help jog anyone's memory about where the Gibson Cemetery is located?
