AL Jones line. My great grandfather was William M. Jones b. abt. 1858 AL d. Oct. 24, 1915 at Bryce Hospital in Tuscaloosa Co. AL he was a patient for 14 yrs entered in 1901. He had brites disease (kidney- no Depends in those days or antibiotics etc) Although the records say his wife had him committed because he was crazy, however their is no mention of her name only that a judge in Hamilton, Marion Co. MARRIAGE: marriage record dated 12 Oct 1881 Blount Co. AL lists what I believe is the marriage of my great grandparents Wm. M. Jones and Parthenia P. Jones. says Wm. M. Jones and P.P. Jones they were married by me at H. L. Jones' home, could have been same as H. M. Jones on 1880 census or not. (copy sent by Carolina Nigg of Cullman, AL) Family story says that her father died when she was a baby possibly CW and she was raised by a Gamble family. Another story says her mother died in childbirth and her father gave her to relatives to raise. That her mother may have been a Gamble. There is a Parthenia Gamble listed in 1860 census with Henry Gamble family. She is not listed on the 1861 Confederate census as a child of his, so if his child she may have died young. Robert Williams in AL The older boys did not like their stepmother so they went to live with other relatives. in the 1900 Blount Co. AL Census Gray is living with a cousin Alford and Angeline Baker. Bernard is living with cousin James A. (Albert) and Harriet (Sissy) Crutcher and Lee is living with a Tom Stepp no relation. My father Tommy Jones said they used to go visit Uncle Tite and Aunt Estelle Gamble Sapp, also Aunt Arie Gamble. I have photo's with my grandfather Uncle Gray and Claude Gamble. I also have an old photo of June Gamble. and a Mary Gamble as a small child and Thornton Baker. I see how these families tie together but I do not see my Parthinia nor my William within these ties. after Pal (Parthenia died) William Jones m. ? possibly a Caroline Harris and had at least 2 more children Robert Jones who resided in Northport, Tuscaloosa Co. in 1950's and a William Jones who resided in Marion Co. in 1950's (this son had children named Myrtle, Winiford, John and Henry maybe more) a photo taken in Berriville Ark has him with these children listed. This William and children visited Gray & Bernard in Tuscaloosa in the mid 1940's. no further record or contact with any of them. Anyone with any clues?
