Hi, My Grandfather was James Clement Moore, nicknamed Doc. He was raised in NE Jefferson county near Tarrant and Pinson. But his father Hiram Joseph Moore lived in Cullman county and was married there the first time to Dessie Docenia Prentiss. He is not the Doc you speak of as he was born in 1914. But I believe he was related. Maybe we could compare notes. You can email me at knc4159@aol.com. Thanks, Kitty Calhoun
i have a cousin in Dallas by the way. :)
oops sorry I c u r from Tx.
Oh My Gosh, Jackie was a very special friend of mine.......a quilting friend that is .......I will have to find out where she is buried but , yes she has sons here. Mark & Mike Moore.....Where r u from ?
I really don't expect to find anyone from the Doc Moore family because I know so little about him but I am going to try anyway. My Grandfather was Clemon Moore born 1893 and my daddy who is 80 yrs old said a Doc Moore that lived near Cullman was a cousin of my grandfather's. My grandfather had 3 brothers to my knowledge John,Joe & Riley.Their sons would be his nephews so I am stumped as to who Doc Moore was and how he fits into the family. My grandfathers father was William Tyler Moore that married Lucinda Ellenburg. If anyone from Doc Moore's family reads this,I would like to see if we can figure out how Doc fits into my family.
Hi, Did she have a sis named Jackie (Giles) Moore?
Yes, she did. They are both gone now. I met with them in 1993 at the family cemetery in Hanceville. Did you know them? Where are they buried? Do they have living descendants? My cousin was Wynell BUTLER who died 12 Nov 1996. She was a life-long resident of Cullman. Could someone from this list send me information from her obituary, please? Thanks. Jackie jp55@wt.net

You may already have this tidbit of information, but there was an Elder Jasper Ellenburg at the Grandiflora Church of Christ, south of Baileyton, that would be close to Joppa. ----- Original Message ----- From: "m m" <alabamanonna@webtv.net> To: <ALCULLMA-L@rootsweb.com> Sent: Wednesday, May 25, 2005 4:17 PM Subject: [ALCULLMA] Friendship Al.? > I have the death certificate of James Henry Ellenburg whose address was > Joppa,Al. Sorry to Say, I dont know anything about most of the cemeteries in Cullman Co., I have relatives in several of them, that's about all. Robin could well be the best source of any additional info... He has visited all of those he has listed and he has more family in the area than I do. Good Luck Dave Blaikie, Atlanta, Ga
Dave, I realize that Martha doesn't have a tombstone but I do have her death certificate and it states she is buried at Center Hill. Would there be another Center Hill other than that at the Baptist Church? If not, do you know of anyone (such as a cemetery sextant or church member) that might have a list of those buried there who might not have stones? Is there anyone on this list that could look for an obituary for Mrs. MARTHA DODD, widow of W.P. DODD? She died at Steppville on Dec 28, 1924. Her death record states she was buried at Center Hill but on my one visit there many years ago, I could not locate a tombstone. Would anyone know if there is one? The funeral director on the death certificate looks like Ashwander Candell --- would this be correct? Thanks Jackie
