    3. Oh, I just thought of another route: to get more information on this document you might want to contact Billy Shaw, who is the Chief of the Deer Clan of Echota Cherokees. Billy lives about a mile away from me in Trimble and is extremely knowledgeable about Cherokee subjects. His number is listed in the telephone directory, or the Cullman County Commission or the Library's Reference Department could likely get that information for you. 3. I'm looking for records or other information about FULLER & ST. JOHN, Attorneys in Cullman, AL (Cullman Co.) in September 1894. In particular, I have a copy of an application for membership in the Cherokee Nation dated September 7(?), 1894. It was printed with blanks for the applicant's name, etc., with 'FULLER & ST. JOHN, Attorneys' printed on the bottom. This might imply that more than one person was applying at this time. Any pointers to tracking this down would be greatly appreciated. Alice

    1. [ALCULLMA] Fw: WESTON - HODGE(S) surnames
    2. Ellis
    3. I am still trying to find my ggg grandfather. His wife was Elizabeth Julia (Hodge or Hodges) Weston. He was married to her pre 1826. They have three known children together. Moses Riley Weston born in Morgan county, AL in 1826 per his army records. He served in the War with Mexico and died serving in that war. Other children were Nephanny (Nettie, Neffie, Neffa) Weston born in 1828 and married John Butler in Blount county, AL and Jasper Newton Weston born in 1833 in AL and married Elizabeth Lucinda Fortner in Blount county, AL. Jasper Newton Weston listed on a census his father was born in Ohio. It is a rumor in some family stories that my mystery Weston was married before and had sons Bill and Baker Weston who lived up north somewhere. Elizabeth Julia Hodge(s) Weston was rumored to be the daughter of Hugh Hodge of Virginia. She had a daughter pre her marriage to a Weston (no marriage record has been found) named Lydia Hodge. She married Calvin Tidwell who has c! onnections to Blount county, AL Tidwells. Jasper Newton Weston named his first child John Columbus Weston. He college educated all eleven of his children. A family story that has not been proven had this mystery Weston named Jacque Weston. IN newspaper articles Jasper Newton Weston was fondly called "Jop" Weston. Maybe someone down the line got this mixed up. They sound similar. It is assumed he was in North AL in the 1820's. Is anyone researching these names? I found an article that had some Westons listed in Cullman churches during this time period.

    3. Lois, Don't know whether you have seen it but, if not, the Cullman Library site is well worth a visit. The link is: http://www.ccpls.com/ And the links found there to their Special Collections and Local history pages are very good resources everyone can share. My Davis, Dismukes, Howard and Whitaker families are all listed in the Holly Pond cemetery pages they have on line - as will be your Plunketts - and there are quite a few others to see too. It is possible that Mr. Myrick might offer the fine sounding document you have zipped in the in Dan Scott's Holly Pond heritage pages. I sent Dan a transcript and images of the document of my great aunt Maude Davis Johnson's recollections of her youth in Holly Pond at the turn of the century (which mentions your relatives) and some old photos of her family. The link to that is: http://www.ccpls.com/Holly%20Pond%20frontweb.html For all of us so far away now these are splendid helps and a credit to the generosity of all genealogy enthusiasts. 3. Hi Alabama Researchers, I am researching information on the ARCHER and GORHAM families. My grandfather, John Willard ARCHER was from Alabama (born 1882, died 1937). Willard was married 4 times. His second wife was my grandmother, Zera Myrtle MCANEAR. After her death, Willard married Myrtle¹s sister Annie Florence MCANEAR. Willard was a Methodist preacher in such Alabama towns as Cullman, Baileyton, Henegar, Geraldine, Altoona and Reform. His father was Jasper Monroe "Jack" ARCHER, a farmer from Alabama, born 1851, died 1932. He married Ida Elizabeth "Sissy" GORHAM from Georgia. Jack¹s father, Elias ARCHER, from Virginia, was also a farmer. Elias was born in abt 1806. He married Elizabeth GILBERT from South Carolina or Georgia. I am interested in any information on my grandparents, ggrandparents and their children. Thank you. Carol Stall [email protected] Carol Stall [email protected]
