    3. Wallace does have the death certifiates but after 1959 they are not indexed and you have to go through them reel per reel to find the one you are looking for.

    3. Wallace State has 1900,1919,& 1920 Cullman County Census on microfilm. The 5th.floor is for mirofilm only. The 6th.Floor is books on every state. They are getting more mirofilm every time I go.They also have death certifiates 1909-1960's on mircofilm. If it is on the State Death index, Wallace has it.Wallace has the best resources I have seen. The workers are friendly and always ready to help.I applaud Mr.Davis and the staff.

    3. Jean, There are Fed. Cenus CD disks of most Cullman County census records now. The Indexes were not brought forward after 1900. if that late. I am using my scant knowledge of the Genealogy Library at Wallace State Community College, Hanceville, AL. I do know there are microfilm reels of the Cullman Census thru 1910(1920 also, I think) on file there & now they have begun using CD Disks & computers for much of their Genealogy research sources, now. I don't drive down there now as I am not supposed to drive because of medicaions I take. WSCC Library can provide much information that is available for anyone doing research there. They have a web site, but I haven't looked it up. I was told the two top floors are set aside for Genealogy & History Research now. WSCC is.probably second only, in the State, to the large Julia Tutweiler Collection, at the Birmingham Public Library. Harold Lee, Cullman. . ========================================================================= ----- Original Message ----- From: "Jean C Collins" <[email protected]> To: <[email protected]> Sent: Monday, May 21, 2001 11:04 PM Subject: [ALCULLMA] Federal Census of Cullman County, AL > I would like to buy Federal Census Books of Cullman County, AL for the years 1900, 1910, and 1920. 1. Re: [ALCULLMA] Wix/ Gilland
    2. My family name is Wix. My Grandfather was Hubert Wix, born 1914 Cullman, AL. His father was William Columbis Wix born 1889 died 1983 of Culman. This is he first point at where I am stuck. I have found no trace of William Wix or his wife Clara Lee Tilley or any other children. Regretfully my grandfather died and did nto talk much about his family. What I do have I pieced together from conversations with my grandmother. Hubert Wix married Lovie "Esther" Gilland whose father was General Jackson Gilland born 1880, whose parents were Jack Gilland and Nancy Adlin Wren. I do know that they are buried at Cross Roads Cemetary. I am trying to find records of their children, parents as well as living relatives. Any help is appreciated. Thanks R. Wix

    3. Leigh, What do you need to know about the Waters? I just finished typing SAR applications for Joe Watters sons and grandsons, so I have a good bit of the information. The lady is Bettye Steele Watters, wife of Joe. I am pretty sure she and Joe (her husband) are in the telephone book, or you can email me directly.
