C. Mitchell from Covington County, AL - Rose Hill postmaster 1859. Lived in Florala and Holmes County, FL. I believe he was born 1835 in Georgia. I'm very interested in your Alexander Isaiah as possibly being his father. J. C. (we believe his first name was Jefferson) Mitchell and his wife Tabitha raised two adopted children - Catherine and Thomas Albert. Catherine Mitchell is my husband's great-grandmother. She had two daughters with unknown Coleman - Almeta and Clara. I've seen the Almeta name associated with Isaiah's family in other places. Have you seen anything in your search that could connect this Jefferson with your Isaiah?
