F. Sims. I believe that he was married prior to marrying Rosa Lee Walker Sims who died 20 April 1969. After Rosa Lee died he is said to have married Chloe Esther (Cloester) Walker. Chloe Esther/ Cloester was a cousin of Rosa Lee's first husband, John William Frank Walker. John was born 22 August 1912 in Rutledge, Crenshaw County, Alabama. His parents were Newton Joshua Walker (b. 14 August 1888) and Alice Parish. Other siblings were: James Thomas, b. 1915; Leander, b. 1918; Josephine, b. 1920; and Ola, b. 1924. I "assume" that Newton's first wife, Alice died and he then married Mary Elizabeth Layton (not sure of spelling). They had Nora, Flossie Bell, Mary and Eugene ("Gene") but I don't have dates. This information on the Walker's is listed in the hopes that someone might be able to place Chloe Esther (Cloester) Walker. In regard to W. F. Sims, he was called Bud and that is how most people knew him. I have been told that his parents were John H. (possibly Homer or Hines) and Cora (unknown maiden name) Sims. On the 1920 Crenshaw County census below, there appears a Bud, 5 years old, and I have been told that W. L. "Bud" was born in 1915. 1910 Pike County, Indian Hill Branch, District 143, Beat 15 (?), Enumerated 19 April 1910 Family and Dwelling 26 Sims, John, head, 22, married 1 Cora, wife, 20, married 1 John H. Sims lives next door to his parents, James Henry and Mary Elizabeth Hines Sims and his sister, Katie Nora who still lives at home and is single and 20 years old. 1920 Crenshaw County Census, Luverne, District 83, Precinct 14, Family and Dwelling 21, Enumerated 2 January 1820 Image # 2 @ancestry.com 21/21 Sims, John, head, 35 Cora, wife, 27 Vera, dau, 7 Bud, son, 5 Hugh, son, 4 1/12 (possibly 1 1/2) Rosa Lee Sims was a child of William "Will" Richard Sims, b. 18 February 1877, and Georgia Ann Walker, b. ca. 1882 so that would make Rosa Lee and W. F. Cousins. William and John Sims listed above in the census are brothers, both children of James Henry and Mary Elizabeth Hines Sims. According to the 1910 Coffee County, Deanville, Alabama Census, "Will" Sims said that he had been married one time for 4 years. Georgia Ann Walker said that she had been married twice and 4 years in her current marriage which would have been to Will, so I don't know if she was born a Walker or married a Walker. After Will died, she married twice more; once to a Bush and then to a Smith. This is the obituary of Rosa Lee (nee) Sims Walker Sims that appeared in the Montgomery Advertiser written by her husband, W. F. Sims. Montgomery Advertiser Brantley Obituary: Rosa Lee Sims Appeared 22 April 1969 Sims, Rose Lee, 56, died at the home of her daughter early Sunday morning.
