Hi everyone! My name is Rick Berkheiser and I'm your new List Administrator for ALCOVING Mailing List. If you have any list problems, please feel free to contact me at ALCOVING-admin@rootsweb.com . As your new admin, I would like the topics on this list to include a well balanced diet of PEOPLE, PLACES, and THINGS. PEOPLE. If it weren't for people, we wouldn't have much to talk about. :-) Post individual surnames occasionally, then repost a month later. This way you can catch newer members of the list and maybe those that didn't receive the message in the first place. While we don't call it this, but its really a perpetual Roll Call. Only let's try to keep our list queries to one person or one couple at a time. It is not necessary to post three or four generations in one e-mail. It gets a little confusing and overwhelming, especially for those in plain text Digest Mode. PLACES. Please post information about places that used to exist in Covington County and what function they served. This would include churches, family farms, businesses, etc. If you know the origins of place names, rivers, etc., please post those as well. THINGS. This one goes hand in hand with PLACES. This could include landmarks, items native to Covington Co., and things manufactured there. Also: If you find a good source or website, post it here. If you have information to share, post it here.
