Mitchell is listed as Thomas Albert Mitchell. I don't have a birthdate, but his sister Catherine was born in 1856. Could this be your Albert Mitchell who married Mary Elizabeth Jones. It is my understanding that Thomas Albert and Catherine Mitchell were adopted by Jefferson C. They may have been his children by an Indian woman (family lore). His wife, "Mattie" and he never had natural children that I can find record of. Family lore says they had only these two adopted children. Thanks, Sherrie Johnson

We would like to correspond with their descendant’s in hopes of resolving a few of our family's brick walls. Several our family members believe Bryant and George maybe siblings to our great-great-great-grandmother Nancy JACKSON. The 1880 census for Covington County, Alabama notes that Bryant and George Jackson were mulatto brothers born in Florida circa 1830 and 1835, respectively. Their mother Cloe was a mulatto born in South Carolina circa 1800. Their father, whose name is unknown, was born in North Carolina. Bryant and George had large families. We believe many of their descendants relocated to Northwest Florida and Richland County, Ohio after the 1900 census. If anyone has any information that might expand in any way about this particular branch of our Jackson family, we would greatly appreciate your help! Wilson J. Kierce. I did find several old burials marked with small markers which have no markings or were so worn that the markings were no longer legible. There were several large cedar trees in an area near the center of the cemetery as well as a very large magnolia tree. In front of this large magnolia tree is where a good number of these old burials are located. I did find a small marker with the name E. A. Cockcroft lying on it's side under one of the cedar trees. Wilson Kierce's wife was Mary Cockcroft. I spent about 2 hours there. I feel certain that Wilson is probably buried there where all the old burials were but without some actual documentation there is no way to be sure which one is his. Thanks for your information. It was very helpful.
