First resident was Joe Jernigen in the 1820's. Sam Bowers settled there before 1840 and worked for Jernigen. I lived there with the Tindels from 1928 to 1934. My last name was Wiggins at that time. Today there are no permanet residents on the road. It is gradually disappearing.

    3. That is another James Williams. He was apparently in Red Level all his life. "My" J.W. (Jim) Williams was listed in the 1870 census living next to James English and James English, Jr. There were several Williams families living in the Rose Hill area in 1860. One even had a son named James W. but he was only 3 years old in 1860. And they had moved by 1870. The only James W. Williams I have found that fits the age was in Pike Co. in 1850 and in Butler Co. in 1860. Can't find that family after that. A teenage Jim Williams fathered two daughters by James English's daughter, Rebecca. One of them was my grandmother. Thanks for your help. Fran

    2. anyone connect to charlotte johnson born abt 1745-1750 north carolina married unknown mr. johnson,all we know about her is she was in burke co, georgia 1820 with a large amount of people in her home, buy 1830 she was in randolph co,ga.by 1840 she was in the house of my gggrandfather elijah/eleazer johnson who married susannah tew 1837 early co,ga, the by 1850 they were in henry co,ala where she was listed as a grandmother not sure if that was to elijah or his kids,1855 shes listed as sarah johnson and the oldest person in henry at 110 yrs old.some of those johnsons boys that went in to surrounding counties must have been her sons, charolette may have married a johnson by the names, jacob-------joshua------john------joesph----aaron---david- these names are main family names in this line,
