Mrs. Barnhill lives with her father, Mr. Joseph Hart near Williams Mill. -Fannie Bryant is charged with being an accomplice of R.R. He was familiarly called “Bose” and in his 19th year. He was interred at a Cemetery here on Monday afternoon. -Mr. Jackson Jones opened a singing school at Salem Church 5 miles southeast of Andalusia on Fri. 9th inst. -Mrs. Foster of Greenville is visiting her son, Mr. George Foster who is seriously sick. August 24, 1889 -Mr. George Coon and Miss Celia Dorsey were married at the residence of the bride’s Father, Mr. Harrison Dorsey of Cool Springs on the 23rd day of July. -Mrs. W. F Martin of Chaffin is spending a few days with her daughter, Mrs. G.W. Dunson. -Sheriff’s sale against Mrs. Loretta Crumpler, Chancery Court of Crenshaw County, Ala on Monday 23d. day of Sept, 1889. Dated 21st Aug. 1889. August 31, 1889 -Mr. Hill Pittman died 24 hours after being shot. Tom Morgan and Hill Pittman came to Luverne on Thursday the 8th inst., upon returning home came up to the camp of Messrs. Walt Kirby and Jiles Coon, who lived near the Florida line. A quarrel arose, Kirby shot Pittman, Kirby & Coon then hitched up & came to Luverne. Pittman leaves a wife and 2 small children. Kirby and Jiles Coon were arrested. - Admr’s Sale- Covington County, the Estate of Nancy Feagin, Deceased, at the old Feagin homestead, near Fairfield, Ala. -Mr. W.R. Allen of Selma is spending time with his brother of this place, and Mr. Ed. T. Albritton. -little child of Mr. Dan Atkinson, living at Millet’s Mill, died on Wednesday night. -Little Grover, son of B.J. Hogg of Oakey Streak found a rattlesnake and took it home. He was not bitten. -Mr. A.A. Kelly of Opine, ran into the wire of the Cemetery with his horse last Wednesday. The horse tripped & fell to the ground with Mr. Kelly under him. July 20, 1889 -Cap Lightner, older Negro man, living near Ozark went out to dig out a gopher, not coming back for several hours, his wife went to look for him, the earth had caved in around him and he was dug out the next day dead. -Two colored men were snake bitten while fishing in muddy water, Ed Liplon was bitten twice, Jack Brown bitten once. Buck Monk caught a snake instead of a fish. They have NO more fishing in mind. - Mrs. J. J. Murphy, died Wednesday after a short illness with distress of the stomach. Dr. Steve did an Autopsy to ascertain the disease. A mass from the stomach weighed 2 lbs. There was another 2 lb. mass in her stomach that can have but one reasonable theory as to why it looks like wood. Mrs. Murphy swallowed small pieces of her snuff brushes and the mass accumulated over the years. The presence of a rag amidst the wood mass cannot be accounted for. It was 2-3 feet long and closely imbedded in the wood.-Birmingham Age-Herald. -Notice: Land Office at Montgomery, Ala. June 4, 1889 George W. F. Emerson left for Geneva Tuesday. We regret to lose these 2 gentleman and wish them luck in their new home. -Mrs. Dolly Duncan was murdered by her husband, Henry Duncan in Dale County, Ala., last Wednesday. Suspicion arose when he eloped with one of the neighbors daughters. Her body was taken from the grave by the Coroner. The Coroner’s jury returned a verdict that Henry Duncan was guilty of murder. He had administered deadly poison to his wife. On Tuesday night following, abt. 6 miles from Chipley Fla. Mr. Baldree with his posse of men overtook Duncan and his daughter at he home of his sister. He is now a prisoner.

I think that is how it works out. Anyway I know that Lewis Bozeman is my Great Great Great Granddaddy. I would greatly appreciate any info you could share on the Bozeman family of Covington County Alabama. My Father is James V. Bozeman and was born in River Falls, Alabama in 1918.
