She is listed with her parents Fred (Fredric) & Dollie North in 1910, Florala. In 1930 Emma Mae isn't listed with them but a granddaughter, Mary Frances Grant, age 5, is listed with them. In 1930 Sarah J. Grant, age 5, is listed in grandmother's household, Sarah J. Grant, age 62, widowed & son, John T. Grant, age 34, widowed. There is an Alabama Death Index record for Embree M. I know he was born in Florala on 11/15/1896 and died on 4/15/1991. I also know his father's name was Thomas. I am looking for information on his wife. I am to understand her name was Emma Mae, but I can't find anything on her. They had two children, Sara Josephine and Mary Frances and according to my mother she left when my grandma (Sara) was young. Any info on the Grant clan would be helpful! Thanks, Tina Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. Hello, I'm hoping someone out there can help me recreate some research I lost when my laptop crashed. I have been doing my best to trace my ancestors in the Lord family, who moved to Covington County from Pike County sometime in the middle nineteenth century. At some point in my internet research, I came across an early history of Covington County that referenced someone named Lord who operated a general store that really just sold liquor or something to that effect. I have been unable to locate that reference again, and I was wondering if it rings any bells for anyone. Thank you, Dorothy Thompson

Hinesley who were proprietors of the Florida House Hotel in DeFuniak, 1926. This info appears in the DeFuniak Herald newspaper social column of Jan 1926 it says that Mrs. Fred R. Brannon and children were visiting from New Smyrna, FL. Surely Fred R. and Blanche they are related to 'your' Brannons. Their marriage certificate might show his parents names - or perhaps a parent or sibling signed the marriage certificate as witness...they were married in DeFuniak Springs, Fl - the county seat. Good luck in your search; I hope this might help in some small way. Judy Important Note: The author of this message may not be subscribed to this list. I haven't been to the site to explore but my sister informed me this morning the the Walton County Clerk of Court has info on their website such as marriage license. (I grew up there and she was telling me my brother's Army discharge info was on the site.) I do not know the site but I am sure to could find it with a Google (or some other) type search. Hope this helps and good luck.
