    1. UPDATE Cool Springs Cem - CARROLL
    2. Researchers, I found the following info on my previous query from earlier today. It appears that Mrs. D. D. Carroll was Laurie Ellen WALLACE - a daugh of Andrew S. and Susan WALLACE (see June 1900 Hallton, Covington Co., AL, ED 36, fam 37, line 78 and May 1910 Opp, Covington Co., AL, ED 49, fam 360, line 34) I also found a death record for: David D. CARROLL on Apr 30, 1945 in St Clair Co., AL (Vol 24, Cert. 11818) I have NOT been able to locate David CARROLL in 1910; nor do I know the parents of David CARROLL. The following cemetery info is from the www.trackingyourroots web site ------ Cool Springs Cemetery T4N-R18E-S27. Covington Co., Alabama. Going north on Hwy 331 from Hwy 12/84 in Opp, Al., turn right on Hwy 12/84 and go about 1 1/2 miles. The cemetery will be on the right at junction of Cool Springs Road and Hwy 12/84.. 1. Cool Springs Cem - CARROLL ?
    2. Dear researchers, I found a mention of the following at the tracking your roots web site (from Andalusia newspaper info): Mrs. D. D. CARROLL of P'cola died Dec 20, 1914 / mentions burial in Cool Springs Cem/also mentions survivors as a husband, 2 daughters, 3 brothers, and 6 sisters. Is there a lookup available for the above cemetery? I suspect Mrs. CARROLL's first name to be Annie or Mary. Possibly, Mrs. CARROLL is a daughter of Andrew S. and Susan (nee TILLIS) WALLACE. I have no idea of the first name of "D. D. Carroll". Thank you for any help, Sharon

    1. Killebrew and Jean factory
    2. I'm new to this list and looking for information on the below information I found on the Internet. Who is this person named Meden Killebrew who was reported in a 1999 "Andalusia Star-News" newspaper article to have owned and operated a woolen jeans mill in a small community named Rose Hill, near Andalusia Ala? Does anyone know anything about this jeans factory and who is MEDEN KILLEBREW. I have been to Newton and have pictures of what is left of the old factory and visited the Newton Cemetery where a ton of Killebrew's were buried. All the information I have, and I have a lot says that Thomas Jefferson Killebrew was the founder and owner until he turned it over to Thomas Jefferson, Jr. Where is Rose Hill? does anyone know anything about the Andalusia Al. newspaper? Is Andalusia a town or county? and most of all who is MEDEN KILLEBREW Bob Killebrew 153 Sand Dr. Naples Fl. 34104 239-643-2981 Bkiller8224@wmconnect.com

It also shows that her husband died as a result of the War. So he was dead before 1866. My records show Alex and Rebecca Mitchell had 2 sons: Isias Tobias "Tobe" and James Alex (Elick) Franklin Mitchell. Rebecca also had a daughter named Mary Frances Elmeta "Molly" who was born 7 June 1865, possibly dau. of Alex. In 1867 Rebecca had another daughter: Caroline "Callie" (my grandmother). Although she went by the Mitchell name, stories in our family is that she was the daughter of a Jim Williams who was working on Rebecca's farm. In 1870 he was shown on the census with a recently married wife. He was listed between Rebecca's father and brother. It is obvious Callie could not have been the daughter of Alex Mitchell. About 1869 Rebecca married Martin (or Mastin) Pickett Brewer. Hope this helps, Frances

Surnames: Mitchell, English, Skipper, Manning Classification: Query Message Board URL: http://boards.ancestry.com/mbexec/msg/rw/RS.2ADI/609.1.1 Message Board Post: Sorry about the late reply. I have been out of the family tree business for a couple of years and I will have to dig my notes out. I am the grandson of Lonnie Jackson Mitchell. His father was Isaiah. It is interesting that you mention a son named Tobe. I don't have any record of a son named Tobe, however, it is passed down that Isaiah was nicknamed Tobe. Isaiah's father (I believe)was Alex. Relatives from the Brewer side tell me that he was injured in the war, returned home and died in 68 from complications. Story has it that a Brewer kid lived on the farm as a hired hand and later married Isaiah's mom with whom he father a few children. Does any of this match up with your info? I would really like to know more. Feel free to contact me anytime. Greg Mitchell
