Hello fellow researcher, As I have been told by my Grandfather, John Wesley Allen's father was James Allen and he was a traveling preacher and his wife's name was Rebecca. They lived in the old area of Coosa cty that is now Chilton. In the 1860 census John was a farm hand with a family on the east side of the Coosa river. I also know of a Allen cemetary on the east side of the river, can't remember the road it was on but had a fairey crossing many years ago before the river was Damed up. thanks Joel T.
